Continuing the trend, New Zealand Dynalite distributor, Network Lighting and
local dealer, Fingertip Solutions, have recently completed work on
Tiara, the largest superyacht ever built in New Zealand.

Measuring 54m in length, she beats the record previously held
by Salperton, another Dynalite installation, by only one metre.
The sloop features a 63m mast, just clearing the Bridge of the
Americas, which spans the Panama Canal. Built by Alloy Yachts
International, the yacht incorporates over 70km of electrical and
electronics wiring. The Dynalite system comprises 116 channels,
over eleven separate DyNet lighting control networks. The
equipment is not limited to the control of lighting, but offers
switched control of blinds, air conditioning, curtains and reveal
panels for entertainment systems. The eleven networks are
broken up as follows; Wheelhouse, Flybridge, Aft Cockpit,
Saloon, Dining, Owner’s Cabin, Owner’s Lobby & Ensuite,
Owner’s Office, Port Forward Guest Cabin & Ensuite, Starboard
Forward Guest Cabin & Ensuite, Port Aft Guest Cabin & Ensuite
and Starboard Aft Guest Cabin & Ensuite. The last two guest
cabins include a partitioned wall, which, when opened converts
the two smaller areas into one large space.

Above: Previous record-holder,
Salperton
Lighting including table lamps, kick rope light and
general cabin lighting, is controlled via DLE1205 12 x 5A leading
edge dimmers. Air conditioning on/off, blind up/down, curtain
open/close and reveal panel open/close control is implemented
by DIN-rail mounted DDRC810DT 8 Channel relay controllers.
Control is achieved through a combination of user interfaces.
Décor matching custom control panels are located in each cabin
for the control of lighting levels and Phillips Pronto LCD touch
screens are used to control the switched devices.
The Pronto has been integrated into the Dynalite network using
infra-red control via DUS703W Universal sensors located at the
wheelhouse switch position, the common point at which all of
the separate networks are terminated. The IR codes were
programmed from a Dynalite DTK510C addressable remote
control. Linking of the two partitioned cabins is achieved via
either a wall mounted control panel, or the Pronto units.
The successful commissioning of this system is the third New
Zealand built super yacht achieved by Network & Fingertip
Solutions, with more projects in the pipeline. For further
